Puff, the Magic Dragon
(Altered Text in the series "Songs with positive texts") ~ Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea (Chorus) and frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee (*). ~ Little Jacky Paper loved that rascal Puff and brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff. (Chorus) ~ Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail, Jacky kept a lockout perched on Puff's gigantic tail. (Chorus) ~ Noble kings and princes would bow whene'er they came, pirate ships would low'r their flags when Puff roared out his name. (Chorus) ~ A dragon lives forever, but men grow out of boys. Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys. ~ One night in may it happened: a maiden he did find. To Puff he introduced his wife, and Puff was very kind. (Chorus) ~ Their love grew strong for ever, they had a little boy. And proudly father showed his sun his most beloved toy. ~ Puff spent manly power, the little prince grew strong.
